Corynoxeine

Corynoxeine is an alkaloid that has been found in Uncaria and has diverse biological activities. It inhibits LPS-induced production of nitric oxide in primary rat microglia. Corynoxeine inhibits PDGF-BB-induced ERK1/2 activation in, and proliferation of, rat aortic vascular smooth muscle cells. It inhibits histamine release from LAD 2 mast cells induced by compound 48/80 when used at concentrations ranging from 25 to 200 µM. In vivo, corynoxeine reduces compound 48/80-induced local anaphylaxis and mast cell degranulation in mouse hind paws.
